Fiduciary
Statement

What is a fiduciary?

A fiduciary is a person or legal entity, (such as the advisers at Anthem), that has the power and responsibility of acting for another (usually called the beneficiary or principal) in situations requiring total trust, good faith and honesty.

WHAT IS A REGISTERED INVESTMENT ADVISOR (RIA)?

A Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) is an advisor or firm that is in the business of offering financial advice about investments to clients and is registered with either the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)* or state securities authorities. For instance, individuals or firms that receive compensation for giving advice on investing in stocks, bonds, mutual funds or exchange-traded funds are investment advisors. Some investment advisors manage portfolios of securities. RIAs have a fiduciary duty to their clients, which means they have a fundamental obligation to provide suitable investment advice and always act in their clients’ best interests. *Registration of an investment advisor with the SEC does not constitute an endorsement of the firm or indicate that the advisor has attained a particular level of skill or ability”.
